I showered and started prepping. Soon my mom came down and I did her makeup.
My best woman, Louis Lane showed up soon after. At this point I was hanging out in the slip for my dress. She had not seen the dress before and gave me and up and down look with a half hearted, "Oh you look nice." At first I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but she looked really worried. And then I realized she thought my slip (which was slightly transparent) was actually my wedding dress! I burst into laughter and told her that this wasn't my dress and that it was only my slip. Relief spread across her face and my mom, Louis Lane and I all nearly broke down into tears laughing at her mixup.
And then she got the mimosas flowing. Blunder was quickly forgiven.
Mr. Beagle's sister and my other two brideswomen, Ms. Kitty and Sparty arrived to put on their final touches. We ate lunch and hung around for a little while. Mr. Beagle's groomwomen also visited the suite for a little while. I tried to play it cool and pretend I was relaxed, but I was so excited and needlessly worried about being late,* I wanted to get the show on the road.
Finally it was time to get into the dress.
Once we were all ready and all the finishing touches applied, our heels were strapped on and off to Lake Shore East Park we went.
*I'm a bit known for being late. That's kind of who I am. So leading up to the wedding, I had all sorts of dreams that I was running late or realized as we were walking out the door to the ceremony that I had only shaved one leg or forgotten to tweeze my eyebrows. I had similar dreams before the prom in high school. I'm surprised these dreams didn't give me an ulcer.

Haha, that's so funny! At least she was supportive! Also I LOVE your dress, but I think you knew that already. And I'm loving the recaps - keep 'em coming!

ReplyDeleteLol @ Lois' reaction, I believe I had a few of those.
Ha! That's a great story. You look so happy and relaxed (photography is amazing for its ability to see what you don't necessarily feel).
